Add April to Top 10 Casino Revenue Months
Kansas City area casino revenues were flatter than a pancake in April. These days that isn't such a bad thing. For the month the market's four gambling parlors raked in a combined $58. 4 million before taxes. That trailed April 2005 by six-tenths of 1 percent but still ranked No. 10 on the market's list of best months. In fact, so far in 2006 every month has landed in the top 10, led by the record $64.
4 million banked by the boats in March. Wall Street analysts frown on flat revenue performances, but workaday casino operators aren't so dismayed. It was still a great month, said Ameristar Kansas City Casino and Hotel general manager Dave Albrecht, though he conceded that April kind of took us by surprise after a really strong January, February and March.
