Adelson Brings Casino Ferry Service to Macau's Cotai Strip
Macau has already become the most dominating casino area on the planet. Now Sheldon Adelson is trying to make it as convenient as possible to get to his casinos.
Adelson, who runs the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, is launching a ferry service from Hong Kong to the Cotai Strip. The strip is an area that Adelson has big plans for in relation to casino gambling.
His two main competitors, Wynn Macau, and Lisboa, are located on the mainland peninsula, and Macau's current ferry service runs from there to China.
Adelson's new service will run twenty times a day starting at 7:00 in the morning, and having the last ship leave Macau at 5:00.
Adelson's newest endeavor is trouble for his rival, Stanley Ho, who currently owns casinos in Macau. He used to have a monopoly in Macau in the casino industry, but that was dissolved back in 2002.
Adelson has The Venetian Macau already operational, and is planning on bringing several other hotels to the area. The City of Dreams resort is also being built on Cotai by another Adelson competitor, Melco PBL.
