American Idol Gambling Loses Long Shot Kristy Lee Cook
American Idol is moving slowly towards the finish line. With each week that goes by, there are less and less obvious choices on which contestant should go home.
This week, the gambling long shot, Kristy Lee Cook was eliminated. That left the gamblers to wonder what could have been if she had stayed in the competition.
Cook was the gambling equivalent of betting the Marlins to win the World Series. Gamblers know there is no realistic shot at the victory taking place, but the odds are too good to not take a shot.
Cook was a 90-1 long shot pretty much all the way through the competition. Even the weeks that she performed well, odds makers were reluctant to come off the 90-1 number. Now, gamblers will have to search for their next gamble on an underdog.
The next likely choice for bettors is Siesha Mercado. She has been in the bottom three nearly every week, and has somehow escaped up until now.
There are no more safety nets for Mercado, and while she has been close to going home several times, she is still one of the final six. That gives her a chance for any gamblers looking for high returns on their bets.
