American Idol Preview: Betting Odds Still Favor Danny Gokey

Every year in American Idol, fans develop favorites early on in the competition, but somehow, there is always a surprise contestant that comes out of nowhere to compete near the end. This may be the last week that bettors have the option of finding a dark horse for this season.

Danny Gokey has been the favorite since the competition has gone live and the viewers have taken over the judging. He is still the gambling favorite at +190. Adam Lambert is a close second at +200.

"This year, I would not be surprised if a couple of the contestants not receiving much attention snuck up and won,' said AI fan Kristen Wheeler, "I really like Kris Allen and think he has some great singing qualities."

Allen is one of the current long shots at +2000. He is joined at the bottom of the list by Scott MacIntyre at +2500, Megan Corkrey at +3500, and Michael Sarver at +6500. Three contestants have already been eliminated by fan voting.

With only three female singers left in the competition, Lil rounds has the best odd, according to the sportsbooks. She is at +550, while Allison Iraheta has odds of +800.

Anyone looking for a middle of the pack male to throw their support behind. Anoop Desai is +1500 and Matt Giraud, who has seen his odds shoot up in recent weeks, is at +800.
