Arizona Tribal Casinos Stay Consistent With Revenue Contribution
Indian tribe gaming in Arizona has stayed on par from past year's. The tribe contributed $24.4 million to the state from the quarter that ended on March 31st.
The money did not change much from the same time last year. There was only a one percent decrease from the numbers of the same quarter in 2007.
While other states are watching the economy quickly rip into casino gambling revenue, Arizona stayed at the level it was from 2007. The revenue usually increases, but just the fact that it stayed the same can be considered a victory.
The money from the casinos is used for various different causes. Tourism, wildlife conservation, trauma care, gaming regulation, and educational programs all receive a portion of the revenue money.
Class III net win is the basis used to determine how much money the casinos will have to pay the state. The games that generate the money include slot machines, keno, blackjack, and jackpot poker. The money is calculated based on wins versus losses, and does not include a casinos costs.
Currently, there are twenty two Indian tribe casinos in the state of Arizona, and the money contributed this year indicates that business is going well at these casinos.
