Arrogant Casino Ordered To Pay For Ignoring Smoking Ban In Co.

New smoking laws are being adopted all across the United States. People are tired of having their rights violated by smokers, and they have responded by voting for harsher smoking laws.

In Colorado, they have passed the Colorado Clean Air Act, for people who no longer wanted to be subjected to smoke from cigarettes. One casino, however, felt that the new law did not apply to them.

Casino Manager Donald Rosen from the Midnight Rose Hotel and Casino was fined $100 for continuing to allow customers to smoke despite the new laws. County Court Judge Jackson Peters Jr. also ordered that the court costs be paid by the Rosen.

It is scandalous that these Colorado casinos did not and do not take the law seriously," said Chairwoman Stephanie Steinberg, from Smoke-Free Gaming of Colorado, in a statement. It is expected that the organization was outraged over the continued resistance to the law.

Casinos have long felt that they are above the law. Things take place inside casinos, that, if done in other establishments, would cause the owners to end up in prison. Casinos are the money funnel to the state they are in, and because of that, their wrongdoings are often overlooked.

That was not the case in Colorado. Even though the fine was small, it sent a message that a blatant attempt to disregard the law will not be tolerated.
