Aruze Expanding Into The World Of Casino Gambling in Philippines
Casino gambling has become such a big business that now even companies within companies are opening their own casinos. Aruze, which owns almost a quarter of Wynn Resorts, is opening their own casino.
The casino will be located in the capital of the Philippines, Manila. The company is hoping that they will have the casino open by 2010, and the money they are spending on the project is astronomical.
The final product is estimated at a cost of $1 billion. The land that was purchased for the project cost Aruze $300 million. The company has been well known for making gambling machines, but this is their first venture into owning an actual casino.
"The Philippines project represents the core element of our casino resort operation business," Aruze told the Financial Times. If the project goes well, Aruze could soon become a major player in the casino gambling industry around the world.
While this is not the best time for companies to be building casinos in the United States, most of the companies are focusing their attention on casinos around the world.
The casino in the Philippines will also have a hotel with 2,000 rooms in addition to the casino. The casino will be part of a plan that, according to expectations, will increase tourism numbers to 15 million a year from its current rate of 3 million tourists a year.
