Atlantic City Casino Gambling No Longer A Reality For Pinnacle

What is happening to Pinnacle Entertainment is not unusual in this day and age. They had made several big plans before the economy collapsed in the US and now they are rethinking their strategy.

Their biggest plan of all was to replace the Sands Casino Hotel, which was a staple in Atlantic City's glory days, with a new casino of their own. The Sands has actually already been demolished.

With all the plans in place, Pinnacle was preparing to become the next big name in AC casino history. Although they are based out of Las Vegas, Pinnacle had their hearts set on Atlantic City.

"To build what we had hoped to build in Atlantic City takes an era of dreaming,' said Pinnacle Chairman Dan Lee, "...We live in an era where it's just not possible to build what we had anticipated in Atlantic City. Someday, hopefully it's a better world, or somebody shows up and offers us a better deal."

This statement from Lee leads many to believe that Pinnacle is blaming others instead of themselves for the AC casino not being built. The company bought the Sands in 2007 and had the casino demolished, now they are left with nothing more than the land, which they believe they cannot sell.

"If we had an auction on that land, I'm not sure anybody would show up," said Lee.
