The casino industry in the Northeast has caught up to Atlantic City and the casinos in New Jersey are still looking for ways to deal with the economy. One of that was recently implemented at Resorts Atlantic City is $2 blackjack tables.

In the heyday of the city's casino wealth, $2 blackjack tables would have looked funny in these high-end establishments. Now, however, with gamblers not throwing around money like they used to, the $2 tables seem fit for the current economic situation in the US.

Of course, as is the case with most of the casino games, regardless of the denominations, the odds are stacked in favor of the casino. Anyone wishing to play at the $2 tables will have to pay a $.25 a hand fee. That is money that the casino claims goes towards the operation of the games.

Resorts may not stop at blackjack with the low limit betting. The casino is using the blackjack tables as an experiment. If it works, officials of the casino claim they will consider offering other games at the low betting costs.

"Atlantic City casinos need to do anything they can to bring customers through their doors these days," said Gaming Analysts Steve Schwartz, "If $2 blackjack brings in customers, then we may start seeing more casinos in AC offering the tables."

Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, Maryland, and Connecticut have all attempted to gain a piece of the struggling AC casino industry in the past couple of years. Pennsylvania lawmakers have recently legalized table games for casinos in their state, and Delaware legislators may soon do the same.
