The Atlantic City casino industry has been down in the dumps for the better part of two years. The industry is looking for any way to bring customers back from other states such as Pennsylvania, where the gaming industry is booming.

Renovations were expected to take place at several casinos before the economic recession, but in the time since, casinos have backed away from their plans. The economy has improved over the past couple of months, and now casinos are again looking to complete their renovation projects.

Bally's Wild West Casino is hoping that a mechanical bull prop will help bring customers back. Although admitting the wild west idea has come and gone, the casino is excited to add the mechanical bull and other options for patrons to enjoy during their visits.

"It will be a heck of a fun place," said Joe Domenico, Senior Vice president and General manager of Bally's. "this is one prime example of taking something at the center of the Boardwalk, investing some money into it and making it nice."

The AC casino industry, however, will have to come up with something better than nice if they are going to reclaim their position as the gambling capital of the East Coast. Pennsylvania has added new, up to date, casinos in recent years, and they have stolen much business from Atlantic City.

Earlier this year, Pennsylvania lawmakers approved table games for state casinos. In December of last year, Pennsylvania casinos had higher slot revenue than New jersey casinos for the first time in history.
