Bengals In First Place, But Casino Gambling Issue Rules Ohio
The Cincinnati Bengals have played some of the best football in the NFL this season. They are just one fluke play in the season opener away from being undefeated. Why, then, are they not the talk of the town in Cincinnati?
The answer is simple. casino gambling is on the minds of all voters in the city and throughout the state of Ohio. The casino gambling issue is one of the most debated issues in the state in years.
Voters in Ohio will once again have the opportunity to legalize casino gambling in Ohio. The issue has come up before, but each time voters have shot down casinos. Many began to wonder if casinos in Ohio would ever become reality.
Then, the economic recession hit. Jobs were lost, and for the first time the people of Ohio saw casino gambling in a different light. No longer would it be an evil form of entertainment, those thoughts have been replaced with hope.
According to several recent polls, Ohio voters are now in favor of a new proposal that would bring casinos to four major cities in the state. Toledo, Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati would all receive casinos if the vote goes in favor of casino gambling next month.
The economic benefits of casinos have been laid out nicely by the group that had the issue put on the ballot in the first place. The group has delivered a clear message that casino gambling would help stimulate the economy while also putting Ohio residents back to work.
The Bengals may be the darling of the NFL right now, but it is casino gambling that is receiving the press in Ohio. Luckily for the Bengals, they will only have to play second fiddle for another month, then, once again, the city in which they reside will become theirs.
