Blackjack Bringing Big Stars To Seminole Hard Rock Florida Casino

Blackjack has officially arrived in Florida. Florida casino gambling will never be the same after the first hand of blackjack is dealt today at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

The momentous event is attracting some big celebrities. Carmen Electra will be dealt the first hand at about 5:30 P.M. this afternoon. From there, many stars will be on hand to play some blackjack.

Miami Heat guard Dwayne Wade will be joining the festivities, as will former Heat player Eddie Jones. Lorraine Bracco from the Sopranos will also be on hand at the event, which is already drawing a large crowd of gamblers waiting to play at a blackjack table.

Seventy tables have been added by the Seminole Indians to the casino. Most of the tables are for blackjack, but there are other games that are being added to the casino, which up until today featured only poker and slots.

The blackjack tables became legal for the tribe after signing a compact with Governor Charlie Crist. The Seminoles will have to give some of the revenue generated to the state of Florida. The only way the compact could be broken is if there is expanded casino gambling in the state outside of the Seminole casinos.

Crowds gathered early on Sunday at the Hard Rock Casino in anticipation of seeing history. For the first several weeks, it will be hard to even get on one of the blackjack tables. Floridians have been waiting a long time for expanded casino gambling, and it has finally arrived.

This may be just the first step to Florida becoming one of the target areas for tourists in the United States. They already have South Beach and famous Fort Lauderdale Beach, and now they are adding a key component to attract stars. Gambling.
