Marketing the Slot Machines to the Elderly
In all the promises made about the wonderful things a gambling casino would bring to Rhode Island, there is one glaring omission, one casino perk that is so vitally enticing that it is difficult to imagine a truly serious proposal that doesn't include it.
Maybe I missed it in all the Trump-Harrah's-Narragansetts puffing and promising, but I don't remember a single mention of free hits of O2 on the casino floor. I am not being frivolous here. I am not trying to take the casino debate to a lower level. It's already there. There are casinos that provide free fill-ups of oxygen tanks to keep elderly gamblers breathing easy and playing steady. There are also casinos that provide prescription drug refills based on the number of credits on a slot club card.
