Boyd Gaming Confirms Closure of Casino Stardust
Boyd Gaming officials are reconfirming the closure of Stardust Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on November 1st to make way for a new $4 billion dollar complex, Echelon Place, a set of boutique-style hotels, along with casino gambling, fine-dining and retail stores.
Boyd Gaming's announcement to close the Stardust has created a last minute buzz and apparently the casino gambling facility is sold out for the last month of operation.
Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme will perform the last show in the Stardust showroom on October 28th. This is the 2nd showroom the couple has helped to close, after playing the final show at the Circus Maximus venue at Caesars Palace in 2000.
The all-new Echelon Place is planning to go-live sometime around 2010, possibly later.
Boyd Gaming crews will begin demolition of the Stardust Casino, in the first quarter of next year, according to company officials.
