Bureau of Indian Affairs Reports On Casino Gambling Effects

A proposed gambling casino in Calhoun County has been a hot item for the Bureau of Indian Affairs research department for the past 2 years down in the southern state of Alabama. Finally, they are ready to release the final conclusions of their findings.

According to the report, the new casino gambling project would not impact the area negatively. The land where the casino would be constructed is currently a corn farm.

As one environmental scientist put it, "Some people would like the gambling casino because of the opportunity to make money in the area. Other people that live in the area see that as an infringement on their peace and quiet."

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has spent more than 2 years researching the possible environmental impact of a casino and they say it would be no different than building a large shopping center.
