Casino Dealing School Coming To Columbus And Cleveland
Voters in the state of Ohio approved four casinos for the state in the election this past November. Their main goal in doing so was to help bring down the unemployment rate in the state.
As of now, any potential employees have been traveling to Michigan to learn how to deal. There is an ABC School of Bartending and Casino College in the south part of Michigan. The school also has a campus in Columbus, but has yet to add the casino dealing courses to that curriculum.
Next year, the courses will be added at the Columbus location, and the school also has plans to open a branch in Cleveland. That, in itself, should bring employment opportunities that did not exist before voters approved the casinos late this past year.
Ohio has been among the hardest hit by the economic recession. Many residents have lost their jobs, and with many businesses closing down, there has been nowhere to turn for relief. The casinos will provide thousands of jobs to Ohio residents.
In order to deal at a casino, the worker usually has to have had some experience dealing in the past, and they also are required to have completed a dealing class. In these classes, potential dealers are taught about ways to shuffle, collect chips, and handle the action at their tables.
Ohio voters have turned away casinos several times in the past, but this time around was different. The pro-gambling group that organized the amendment, did a powerful job of bringing the facts about casinos to state voters. Issue 3, as it became legally known, passed with a majority vote.
