Casino Debate Reaches Newspapers in California

Casino expansion is a hot topic all around the United States. The two sides of the issue have gone to new lengths in California to gain support.

The North Fork Mono Tribe is trying to build a casino off Highway 99 in Fresno. Opponents are lining up to make sure that the casino is never realized.

Last week, opponents of the proposed casino took out a full page ad in the Fresno Bee. The basis of the ad was that the casino was a bad idea. It also claimed that Las Vegas casinos are trying to change the rules. They clearly do not want the casino built.

The tribe has now come out with a newspaper ad of their own. they launched an attack against their opponents by claiming they are doing nothing outside of the rules. They also gave a list of all the agencies that are in support of the casino.

The list was lengthy and featured Madera County governments. The tribe wants to build the casino on 305 acres. The casino would be equipped. like most new casinos being built these days, with restaurants and a hotel.

The tribe's ad was run in the newspaper on Sunday.
