It may have been the second consecutive month that Kansas City casino gambling revenue dropped, but you are not going to find too many casinos around the country crying for KC casinos. That is because even though revenue declined, it was still better than in most places.

Kansas City casino revenue dropped for the second straight month in July. It was down one percent over the same period the previous year. The revenue on the year is still up over the first seven months of 2008.

"Kansas City casinos should be counting their blessings that they are only dropping revenue minimally," said observer Lance Freck, "there are some places where the casino industry is barely hanging on during these tough economic times."

One of those places in Atlantic City. What used to be the casino gambling capital of the East Coast, has been reduced to watching their revenue figured drop by double digits for the past several months. Las Vegas has been another major gambling destination that has seen their casino revenue decline sharply.

The economy has made it difficult on almost all casinos throughout the US. people do not have disposable income, so casinos are one of the first expenses to go when it is time to clamp down on the family finances.

In July, Kansas City casinos won $61.47. Argosy, the number grossing casino in the city, Argosy, actually had a revenue increase in July of five percent. Their revenue was up to $17.26. Ameristar and Harrah's both fell at least five percent from the previous year in July.
