Alleged Casino Gaurd Thief Trial Date Set
An Aug. 22 trial date was set yesterday in Shasta County Superior Court for a former Pit River Casino security guard who has been accused with two others of having stolen an estimated $181,592 from the Burney casino.
Hishkama Marie Wilson, 32, of Burney, who has pleaded not guilty, was arrested at her Burney home on May 31 in connection with the May 29 casino heist.
Although most of the money has since been recovered, about $50,000 remains missing.
Two other suspects in the case, Warren Michael Walker, 33, of Fall River Mills, and his sister, Christina Marie Shepard, 29, of the Burney area, gave up their legal right Wednesday to have a preliminary hearing and are due to return to Superior Court on July 3 for their second formal arraignment.
They have also pleaded not guilty
