Casino Industry Booming in Places Like Iowa
Like many other states across the country, Iowa's casino gambling industry is in a boom period. Another report by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission shows that gamblers dropped $1.1 billion in Iowa over the past year. That's a 5% jump over last year.
Over 20 million people left behind an average $57 each. The money brought in by Tribal Casinos, which aren't state-regulated, wasn't factored in. The commission says the boost in gambling revenue can be attributed to casino expansions across the state.
