Casino Only For Wynn Resorts In Philadelphia

Steve Wynn and his Wynn Resorts company have built some of the finest gambling destination resorts in the world. Their plan, however, for a revived casino project in Philadelphia is to keep things simple.

Wynn Resorts confirmed on Tuesday that they would be taking control of the project that has been stalled now for quite some time. The company still needs to gain regulators approval, but Wynn hopes to take of that himself on Wednesday.

That is the day that has been chosen for Wynn to travel to Harrisburg to unveil his plan to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The Board had threatened to take the license away from the Foxwoods project because of the delays, but Wynn is now confident that the casino will be built in a timely manner.

Wynn gave some details of what the casino will look like on a conference call with analysts. he claims that the casino will not, "look like a slots in a box," and spoke of his vision of a one story casino with several amenities.

The facility will have not only the slot gambling floor, but a poker room, an Asian restaurant, Italian restaurant, and a steak house. Table games would also be offered at the casino now that Pennsylvania lawmakers have legalized blackjack and other table games.

The Mashantucket Pequot tribe was the majority owner under the previous deal, but will now become a minority owner in the casino. Local investors will also keep their minority shares with Wynn becoming the majority owner.
