Casino Queen Dealt to Kentucky Casino
The Casino Queen has accepted an undisclosed and unsolicited offer from a Kentucky casino company. Pending approval from the Illinois Gaming Board, the East St. Louis casino and hotel will become the property of Columbia Sussex Corp. The board is scheduled to review the proposed sale when it meets Wednesday in Chicago.
Casino Queen co-owner and board president Jim Koman said the hotel and casino was not on the market, but Columbia Sussex made an offer that the board liked. "It will stay the same," he said. "We have a wonderful group of employees who are like family, and both parties want to keep employees happy. "In addition to Koman, the casino and hotel are owned by the families of Charles Bidwill III, Michael Gaughan and Timothy Rand, of the Chicago area; and Patrick Kinney, of Las Vegas.
