Casino Revenue Rises At Hollywood Slots In Maine
This is not the best of times for casino operators throughout the US. Revenue has been dropping rapidly during the current recession, and casinos seem to be having a harder time than most industries.
The people of Maine, along with their lawmakers, have not been in favor of expanded casino gambling. That does not mean, however, that they do not support casino gambling. It may seem tricky, but revenue figures from Hollywood Slots clarifies things a bit.
Hollywood Slots in Bankor is the online casino in the state of Maine. Revenue for the month of April actually increased over the month of March, something not many casinos in the US can claim.
The figures rise to even greater revenue increases when considering year to year. April of 2009 had a seventeen percent increase from April of 2008. Those figures are deceiving because last year the slot hall only had 475 machines. This year, the amount of machines increased to 1,000.
April of 2009 had revenue at Hollywood Slots of $55.2 million. That figure represented an increase of just over a half percent from March. The Department of Public Safety's gambling control until released the revenue figures.
