Casino Vote Scheduled For Thursday
The House of Representatives has delayed voting on a constitutional amendment allowing a casino in West Warwick. If adopted, the amendment would permit the Narragansett Indian Tribe and an unnamed business partner to build a casino. Rhode Island's constitution mandates that state authorities control all lotteries, including casinos. To become law, the amendment must be adopted by the House and Senate and approved by Rhode Island voters in a statewide referendum.
