Casinos Becoming A Saving Grace For Unemployed In The US
In the US, unemployment figures are rising to record numbers. Every day there are thousands and thousands of people who are being laid off of jobs that they have been working at for decades.
In addition to the job loss, there is something else that is sweeping across the nation. Casinos are being built at an alarming rate and states are changing their gambling laws on an almost daily basis to accommodate these casinos.
O.K., so it is really not to accommodate the casinos. The laws are being changed because the pressure is on politicians to solve budget problems and casino revenue is an easy solution to the problem.
With all of the negativity that surrounds bringing a new casino to a state, there is also the flip side. The side that is keeping may people in the US employed.
With the unemployment rate rising daily, casinos are providing one of the only stable environments in the job market. It is true that some of the bigger casinos have made minimal job cuts, but that number is nowhere near the amount of jobs that are being created.
Thousands of job opportunities are created every time a new state, county, or city decides to allow casino gambling. People who lost jobs they had for decades are turning to these casinos and the industry is taking them in with open arms.
Recently, casinos in Denver, Pittsburgh, Missouri, and California have hired new employees. The future of casino gambling in the US is bright, and it could not have come at a better time for unemployed Americans.
