Celebrities Campaigning For Casino Resort in Ohio
Casino gambling is just another issue that politicians have latched on to. They have used their stance on the issue to both win, and lose elections.
In Ohio, there are a group of celebrities that are throwing their support in favor of expanded casino gambling. Advertisements featuring the celebrities started airing on television and radio on Monday.
"M.A.S.H.", is one of the highest rated television series of all time. One of the stars of the show, Jamie Farr, who played Corporal Klinger, is hoping people will support an initiative for a casino resort in Ohio.
The initiative is not yet on the ballot for November, but Parr is hoping that people will support it enough to get it on the ballot, and have it passed.
Another celebrity, Vicki Lawrence, who played Mama on the "Carol Burnett Show", is also featured in the ads. The ads are being run by developers for the new casino resort.
The proposed site of the new casino is between Columbus and Cincinnati. The developers are planning on spending $600 million on the project should it be approved.
