Celebrity Poker Gambling Tournament To Be Held At Century Casino
Poker tournaments have become a popular way to raise money for various charities. The Century Casino & Hotel in Edmonton, Canada, is getting in on the action.
The casino has announced plans to hold their first annual Celebrity Poker Tournament on June 14th. The tournament will raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Alberta and will feature some of Canada's top celebrities.
Canada's most popular television show right now is 'Corner Gas'. Lorne Cardinal and Tara Spencer-Nairn from the show will both be participating in the poker tournament. Playboy model Rochelle Loewen, who also is a WWE entertainer, will be playing as well.
Only seventy seven entries will be accepted for the tournament. The event will begin at 2:00 P.M. on June 14th in the casino's new twenty four hour poker room. The fees for the tournament will see a portion go to the MS Society.
The next day, a silent auction will be held to raise additional money for the Society. The items for the auction are not yet known.
Local poker players Sandra Sperounes from the Edmonton Journal and Gene Principe from Sportsnet will also be entering the tournament. Principe is the commentator for the Edmonton Oilers.
