Children on the gambling floor is not an acceptable practice no matter what casino you are at in the United States. When a casino gets busted allowing children on the gambling floor, it usually means heavy fines are coming for the owner of the casino.

That is now the case for the owner of Philadelphia Park Casino and Racetrack. The owner, Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment Inc., has been hit with an $18,000 fine from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

In addition to the fine, Greenwood will also donate $8,000 towards programs that help with problem gambling. They have agreed, as well, to increase the number of their security staff for the casino, and spend money on better training for the security.

The Control Board cited several different incidents that caused the fine, most of which date back to last year. One incident involved a nineteen year old playing slot machines for over an hour with no intervention from the casino. Other infractions had to do with young children, ages 2-4, roaming the gambling floors.

"Pennsylvania casinos have a statutory obligation to keep underage individuals off the gaming floor. In these cases, Philadelphia Park breached that obligation, resulting in three children and one teen being on the gaming floor. The corrective actions approved by the board today make it clear to all casinos that underage gambling will not be tolerated," said Chair of the Gaming Control Board, Mary DiGiacomo Colins.
