Choctaw Nation Holds Grand Opening For Casino In Oklahoma

Residents of Oklahoma were treated on Tuesday to the grand opening of the newest tribal casino in the state. The Choctaw Casino Resort was home to a celebration that was fit for a king.

The Choctaw Nation had been anticipating this day for a long time, and on Tuesday it finally arrived. Thousands of people from all over the state gathered to see what the new casino had to offer, and the Choctaw's did not disappoint.

"This is a proud day for the Choctaw Nation as we open the doors and show our guests what we've been working so hard to complete," said Chief Gregory E. Pyle, "The new Choctaw Casino Resort means new opportunities for our area and we're glad to have so many guests share in our excitement."

Among those who were on hand for the opening were poker pros Kathy Leibert, Tom McEvoy, and TJ Cloutier. They were playing in a celebrity poker tournament that began Tuesday. It is part of a promotion where guests can watch the tournament action or play poker against the pros over the next several days.

The casino is 110,000 square foot of gaming, with thirty-eight table games and thirty poker tables. The facility also has 3,000 slot machines for those who would like to try their luck. Giveaways will be a big part of the opening week, with $1,000 being given away every hour on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Friday and Saturday the party really kicks into gear at the casino. A Lexus will be given away, and the hourly prize will be $10,000 over the weekend. Poker seminars will be held, and five-star cuisine will be offered from Master Chef Roland G. Henin.
