College Gambling The Focus Of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Seminar
College students are gambling more these days. It is not that they are more addicted to the popular entertainment form, just that many more forms of gambling are available to them.
On Friday, details of college gambling were offered at a seminar that was held at the Holiday Inn, across from the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was the sports betting that was stressed at the seminar.
"Sports betting has become much more prevalent with the invention of the Internet and it is something that needs to be controlled," said observer William Nersey, "it is not that every college student will become a gambling addict, but enough of them are that seminars like this one become a necessary tool in combating a possible problem."
Studies have been done that indicate that almost seventy-five percent of college students have tried some form of gambling. The majority of those were males, but there is a growing number of females who also are now participating in some form of gambling.
Casino gambling has become a popular choice for college students. Casino laws are changing constantly in the US, and college students are much more exposed to casinos that the previous generation.
Budget deficits have led to casinos being built in even the most conservative of states. Along with the casinos, it is seminars like the one held on Friday in Fort Wayne that will help enlighten college students about the dangers that could go along with gambling.
