Colorado Gambling Limits Could Increase After November Election
The state of Colorado is relatively new to the casino gambling industry. What they have learned in their short time, however, is that the longer casinos stay open, the more money that can be generated for the state.
People of the state have spoken and it appears they want more gambling options. They are seeking longer hours of operations for the casino, and also higher gambling limits.
The office of the Secretary of State Mike Coffman revealed on Friday that enough signatures were turned in to get an initiative on the ballot in November. The initiative would allow the expanded hours and raised gambling limits, in addition to adding other games.
Governor Bill Ritter has already submitted a report that states that the revenue generated from casinos would double if the hours were extended and limits raised. If approved, the initiative would raise the betting limits to $100.
It would take almost five years for the limits to double the current revenue generated, but that is not a long time in casino terms. The money could be used by another in the long list of states that is struggling to balance their budget.
