In the state of Colorado voters decided that expanded casino gambling would be a solid way to help with economical woes. either that, or they just wanted to gamble later and with higher limits.

Whatever the reasons were for voters approving new gambling laws, it happened back in November. Since then, there has been several debates over where the excess money from the expanded gambling will be going.

The beneficiaries of that money will be community colleges and the Colorado Historical Society. That is the verdict from the House Education Committee. Now the issue will be taken to the full House for more debate.

In November, voters approved several different expanded gambling options for state casinos. First off, they would be allowed to expand their hours of operation. In addition, casinos would have the freedom to add more games and raise their betting limits.

The betting limits and hours of operation are the key components to the amendment. With both in place, Colorado casinos can make millions of additional dollars in revenue. The state, in turn, would receive more gambling tax money from the casinos.

Community colleges in the area were pleased with the outcome. Since the economy has taken a turn for the wort, enrollment at community colleges in the state is down over ten percent.
