In Pennsylvania, people were delighted when Don Barden was awarded a casino license and began building the project that would help financially in the state. That, of course, was the good news.

The bad news has now been going on for quite a while. Barden ran out of money for the project and could not come up with the necessary funding to continue building the casino.

Construction workers stopped working on the job, and the project has been in limbo ever since. That was back in on July 1st. Now, in late August, a resurrection plan for the project has finally been approved.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board unanimously approved an ownership change of the casino project. The new owner will be billionaire Neil Bluhm. He told the board on Thursday that if they approved the change of ownership, that all contractors would be paid.

The board indeed did approve the plan and now construction will once again begin on Monday. The cost of the project is estimated at $780 million. The casino is being built on the North Shore. No timetable was give as to when the project would be completed.
