County, City Now Squaring Off Over Casino
In what seems an all too familiar scenario, leaders from Cincinnati and Hamilton County are not seeing eye to eye again. Todd Portune, the lone Democrat on the County Commission, supports City Council's effort to allow gambling at Broadway Commons. However, if Republican Commissioners Phil Heimlich and Pat DeWine have their way, the project end up "crapping out". DeWine says the area is not suitable for such a facility, "an area that already suffers from a high level of illegal drug use, dealing prostitution, etcetera, and put in that a couple thousand slot machines.
