The Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo Township may want to look into the security measures that watches their dealers. For the second time this month, a craps dealer has admitted to stealing money from the casino.

A couple of weeks ago, on April 14th, , Lorraine Brooks pleaded guilty to stealing chips while working at the casino. She admitted to stealing $850 in chips from her bankroll.

Less than a month later, thirty-two year old Derrick Brooks faces a maximum sentence of twenty years in prison and a $250,000 fine after admitting to the same crime. Brooks stole $3,100 worth of chips from the resort.

The two felons have the same last name, but are not related, according to authorities. They also have something else in common, they come from the same town of Merrillville, Indiana. The FBI claims the events were a highly unusual coincidence.

Investigators do not know if the two knew what each other was doing or if they were working together on the scam. They were working at the same craps table, which led investigators to believe they may have been in cahoots.

The conspiracy theory had strengthened when authorities learned that the two Brooks' had worked together at previous jobs before becoming dealers at the Four Winds. The Pokagon Band of Tribal Police began the investigation into the illegal activity, and were helped by the FBI.
