Cripple Creek Leading The Casino Gambling Way In Colorado
Casino gambling is not the sure bet that it once was in the US. The economy, which casinos are usually immune to, has wreaked havoc even on the most popular casinos in the country.
In Colorado, their casinos have somehow found a way to stay afloat under the current economic conditions. Cripple Creek Casino is leading the way, with a revenue increase in January and a February where the numbers were almost the same as the previous year.
"One reason that the Colorado revenue numbers have held while other states have seen a decline is the weather,' said observer Bill Newman, "with a winter that was not as bad as in the past, the casinos were able to sustain their revenue figures."
Other states have not fared as well. Nevada, which is considered to be the gaming capital of the world, has casinos that are seeing regular decreases in revenue month after month.
Atlantic City is another place where casino gambling used to reign supreme. Now, projects have been shelved and existing casinos are just trying to weather the storm. Some have already folded under the economic pressure.
For Cripple Creek, revenue was up almost ten percent in January compared to the same month the previous year. The other two casinos in Colorado, Central City and Black Hawk, had revenue drops of just over eleven percent in the same month.
