Deadly Explosion at Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas
Authorities were reviewing video surveillance from several cameras in and around the Luxor Hotel and Casino's parking garage after an apparent bomb went off shortly after 4 am on Tuesday morning.
The bomb was not considered to be a terrorist act and the police are treating the matter as a homicide with an unusual weapon.
Deputy Police Chief Ted Moody had this to say, "This appears to have been a small device that was constructed in such a way to target a single individual victim. It was successful in doing that, unfortunately."
Another individual, who was with the victim at the time of his death was cooperating with investigators after narrowly escaping injury.
The victim worked at a business inside the hotel. There were no threats against the Luxor, which would lead to the idea that it was not a terrorist attack.
There was not much damage around the targeted vihicle and no apparent damage to the hotel's garage. The garage was evacuated and after police went vehicle to vehicle with bomb sniffing dogs, people were then allowed re-admittance, and were able to remove their cars from the garage.
