Dodge City Casino Gambling A Big Hit With Residents
The state of Kansas has been flirting with the idea of bringing casinos to the state for years. Now that the first casino is open in Dodge City, resident are coming out in thousands to get a feel for what casino life is all about.
These residents have been waiting for what seems like an eternity since they voted in favor of four state-owned casinos. This past week, the time finally arrived for the Boot Hill Casino and Resort to open its doors, and customers were excited.
"It just has been such a long wait that we couldn't help but come out on the first day the casino was open," said Mary Jenger, "It really was refreshing to have something new to do on the weekends when my husband and I want to go out."
Others were impressed with the new casino also. Whether it was the food, the lights, or just the general idea that the casino had come to life, it seemed like everyone was talking about the establishment.
"To not have to travel to gamble is something I have been waiting for for many years," said Bill Pullen, in between pushes on the slot machine he was playing, "It is just so exciting to see that I can now come to a casino whenever I want to get out of the house."
The rest of Kansas is still waiting to experience the joy that Dodge City residents have felt in the past week. The other three zones that have been approved for casinos still do not have their casinos up and running. In a couple of cases, approval has not even been given to developers.
