Evangeline Downs Seeking Full Casino Gambling
A bill that would legalize full casino gambling at Evangeline Downs in Opelousas, Louisiana, appears headed for a vote in the state Senate.
Current law allows Evangeline to have 1,628 slot machines. Under the new bill, Evangeline Downs would be permitted to add table games such as blackjack and craps, making it the second state-regulated full casino in the state.
The Senate Judiciary B Committee reported the legislation without action on May 16, meaning the full Senate will decide on the measure
