Failed Inspection Costs Tropicana Casino 560 Hotel Rooms In Vegas
Tropicana has already lost their Atlantic city casino because they were not able to keep the facility up to the standards that were set. Now, Tropicana is having a similar problem in Las Vegas.
The Tropicana Hotel Casino in Las Vegas has been ordered to close 560 rooms after failing an inspection. The company believes the closure will only be temporary, but it does not bode well for a company trying to rebuild its reputation.
Tropicana Entertainment LLC. is in bankruptcy protection, and the last few months had been good ones for the company. It is expected that sometime this Spring Tropicana will emerge from bankruptcy protection.
As for the closed hotel rooms, Tropicana Las Vegas President Ron Thacker says the company is working to bring the rooms into compliance with local regulations. He claims the problem has to do with plumbing fixtures that were installed as part of a project completed back in 1990.
The casino industry already has been on the decline, and having to close over 500 hotel rooms will not be helpful to the company in their effort to break out of bankruptcy protection. It is unknown how long the rooms in the Paradise Tower will have to remain closed.
