Final Arguments in French Lick Casino Gambling Dispute
The judge in the casino gambling case regarding French Lick casino development is asking both sides to submit their final arguments over whether the case should handled through arbitration or a jury trial.
Indianapolis-based Lauth Property Group and Bloomington-based Cook Group are at odds over ownership and control of the $382 million development in southern Indiana. The casino gambling facility is penciled-in to open in November.
In the past, the judge has said he does not want to be presuaded by public opinion, so he will not ponder a petition signed by local residents in support of Bloomington billionaire William Cook, head of Cook Group.
