First Automated Poker Room In New Jersey Coming To Trump Casino
Casinos have long been looking for ways to cut operating costs. They also are always interested in finding ways to maximize the amount of gambling that can be done within their confines.
Automated poker is becoming the new fad in these casinos. The games are played with one main screen, and players sitting around the main screen all having their own monitors.
The main screen displays a computerized dealer, and the community cards.
Donald Trump, who usually is a leader in most businesses he is involved with, has agreed to create the first automated poker room in New Jersey. He has partnered with PokerPro on the project.
The project still needs the approval of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission. The room will have twelve poker tables, where gamblers can compete against each other, just like in live poker.
PokerTek is the software development company that has created PokerPro. The program keeps statistics in addition to controlling the games action. Ten people will be able to play at each of the tables, just like in live poker.
Casinos have been moving towards the automated poker games to cut their operating costs and keep the games moving quickly. Dealers are not needed at the automated tables, and with the cards generated electronically, more hands can be dealt per hour.
The contract between Trump and PokerTek Inc. is for a field trial. If it should work out, many more casinos could be moving towards the automated poker games.
