Florida is Fastest Growing Gaming Revenue State Thanks To Tribes

The state of Florida is bracing for a boom in casino gambling. Lavish hotels have been built by financial geniuses such as Donald Trump all along Miami and Ft. Lauderdale beaches in anticipation of legalized gaming.

If the numbers are any indication, Florida is already on its way to being one of the top gambling states in the United States. Gaming revenue numbers from 2005 to 2006 show that Florida had the biggest increase in revenue, up 15.22 percent from one year to the next.

In terms of monetary increase, Florida was seventh behind Oklahoma, Oregon, Iowa, Arizona, Arkansas, and Idaho.

Tribal gaming is quickly becoming the top gaming option in the U.S. as it accounted for nearly a fourth of all gaming revenue. It has jumped above lotteries, and with tribal casinos going up nearly everywhere, it would seem logical that within the next few years it will continue to see revenue numbers rise.

Florida, which is expecting full gaming to be allowed at their Indian casinos, should continue to rise up the revenue money chart and if and when they do get legalized gaming expansion, they could eventually battle Nevada for the top spot in revenue in the U.S.

The sunshine state pulled in $1 billion more in revenue in 2006 as it had in 2003, showing the amount of growth the state has seen over those three years.
