Foxwoods Resort Casino Takes Gambling Application To iPhone

Foxwoods Resort Casino is looking to increase their business and they have come up with a creative way for gamblers to see their property. Foxwoods announced their own iPhone application on Tuesday.

The application cannot be played for real money, but the games still play the same that they would in a casino. Any person that owns the iPhone will have access to the Foxwoods app. through the Apple iTunes program.

"This is just another way to reach a large audience and let the public know about everything Foxwoods has to offer," said Robert Victoria, Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing. While Foxwoods is promoting the app. as the first of its kind, Apple did not confirm this to be true.

A couple of months ago, Foxwoods teamed with rival tribal casino Mohegan Sun for an advertising campaign on the New Jersey Turnpike. The two casinos bought billboard space and encouraged gamblers to come to Connecticut to gamble instead of going to Atlantic City.

The two casinos have cut heavily into the AC casino business in the past several years. Although they have stolen business from AC, it appears now that they may be next in line to lose customers.

Pennsylvania and New York have both expanded their casino gambling options greatly in recent years. Pennsylvania still has more casinos being built, mainly the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia.
