Casinos will use any new trend available to run promotions that bring customers into their gambling dens. One of the most popular trends among casinos is giving away brand new cars that have just recently hit the market.

One of those cars comes from General Motors. The Chevy Volt will be the first mass produced car from GM, and the price tag on the car of $41,000 will be right in the range where casinos usually price their giveaways. The Volt is part of President Obama's directive to make the switch to electric cars in the future.

Chevy will be offering many ways for customers to get their hands on one of the new Volt's. Government incentives and rebates are part of the plan to push people towards buying electric cars. Chevy also will have a lease option that will fall in the middle as far as price. The lease will be around $350 for thirty-six months.

Casinos around the US have been struggling to regain the revenue levels that they experienced before the economic recession. Atlantic City and Las Vegas, the two largest gaming destinations in the country, have been hurt not only by the economy, but also by increased competition from neighboring states to New Jersey and Nevada.

The latest hot car that was used to lure gamblers to casinos was also a Chevy. When the new Camaro's hit the market, several casinos launched hourly cash giveaway drawings followed by a monthly drawing in which the winner drove away with the new Camaro.

Electric cars are becoming more popular among drivers who do not want to rely on oil to power their vehicles. With gas prices rising, electric cars have become a healthy alternative. One of the only deterrent to the Chevy Volt is the ten hours it will take to fully charge. Owners will, however, be able to plug the car into a standard electrical socket using the kit provided upon purchase or lease.
