The Turning Stone Casino has been operating their liquor sales under one day licenses awarded to The Beeches, a company that was formed to serve liquor at the nightclubs at the casino facility. Now, alcohol will become a mainstay at the casino itself.

On Thursday, the New York State Liquor Authority granted a liquor license to the company that is providing the liquor for the casino resort. It eliminated the need of the one day licenses, of which thousands had been granted.

Under the temporary licenses, casino patrons had to be members of one of the clubs at the resort to purchase liquor. That will no longer be the case and all customers who are of legal age will be allowed to purchase alcoholic beverages.

"This will make things much easier for the casino," said Gaming Analyst Steve Schwartz. "In addition, it should significantly increase business because on a whole, most gamblers enjoy sipping cocktails wile they are inside a casino."

The resort will also now be collecting food and beverage taxes as well as bed taxes.CD Food & beverage was awarded the license, they are a product of The Beeches Restaurant. The resort itself had been denied licenses many times in the past.

New York is one of the Northeastern states that has expanded their casino options in recent years. The state is still looking for a developer to build a casino at the famed Aqueduct racetrack. Pennsylvania has made the biggest strides in advancing their gaming industry up North, with lawmakers legalizing table games earlier this year.
