Gambling And Education Go Hand In Hand For Teri Hatcher
Many politicians have used education as a way to get legalized gambling in their states. They claim that money from casinos and other gambling outlets would go to school education systems, helping with severe budget shortcomings.
Teri Hatcher, one of the star actresses on Desperate Housewives, is offering up another way that gambling can be helpful. Hatcher has admitted to using gambling as a way of teaching her daughter, Emerson, math.
Hatcher is an astute horse racing fan and believes that by taking her daughter to meetings, she can learn about math through gambling payouts. It is not the type admission that is seen everyday in a world where gambling is sometimes considered a taboo subject.
"I do use the opportunity to make her understand math and what you're betting and what you get back," said Hatcher, "...so we work on math. It's fun." Hatcher revealed her secret in Contactmusic.
Being a star usually opens the door to many gambling opportunities. Some of the biggest celebrities in the world can frequently be found playing in celebrity poker tournaments or frequenting casinos around the world.
Online poker sites have targeted celebrities to help them advertise their sites. Professional poker players, in fact, have become some of the biggest celebrities of today. Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth, just to name a couple, have become household names.
