Gambling Expansion Needed At Navajo Casino After Recent Opening
While most casinos in the US are struggling to keep their slot machines and gambling floors filled in these tough economic times, there is a casino in New Mexico that is prospering so much that they need to expand their options.
The Navajo Nation's Fire Rock Navajo Casino has only bee opened for four months, but they have shown no signs of trouble in dealing with the economy. The casino has announced that they will be adding an additional 135 slot machines.
The additional slot machines will bring the casinos total to 681. The need for the new machines comes because of a demand being created from long lines to play the current machines. The casino does not want their customers having to wait to play.
"We just don't want our guests to be waiting in lines,' said Marketing Manager Rhonda Ray, "The number has gone up, so we decided to buy new games. We don't want our guests to go elsewhere."
Indeed, at a time when most casinos are struggling to just break even, the Navajo Nation must take advantage of the popularity their casino is experiencing. The original expectations of $323 million a year in revenue seems like an achievable number at this rate.
The most amazing aspect of the popularity of the casino is that it is only a temporary structure. The plan is to have the temporary structure operational until a permanent location can be found for the casino.
