Gaming Commission Will Not Only Consider Large Projects

Voted Top Online Casino Several Years in a Row!

The Mississippi Gaming Commission approved the locations for two proposed multi-million-dollar casino resorts on Thursday and also gave the go-ahead for a small operator to reopen next week. Treasure Bay Biloxi will reopen with only 81 slot machines, a much smaller operation than the other three casinos back in business.

The commission also declared the locations for a Foxwoods Casino in Biloxi and an Isle of Capri Casino in DeLisle as legal gambling sites. Foxwoods Development Co. is a commercial casino venture owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, who operate the world's largest casino resort in Connecticut.

The company plans to spend $400 million on the Biloxi casino, which will be part of a $1 billion to $1.3 billion planned development on the more than 260-acre Biloxi Broadwater property. Gary Armentrout, chief development officer for Foxwoods, said the tribal nation will operate the casino as a private commercial enterprise abiding by "all the laws and regulations of the state of Mississippi as well as all the taxes of Mississippi."
