Golden Eagle Casino Dropping Self-Exclusion Program
The Golden Eagle Casino has taken part in policing self-exclusion gamblers that are on a list for the past fourteen years. That will come to an end, however, with the casino doing away with the program.
A self-exclusion program is one in which a gambler can place their name on a list and the casino will then not allow the gambler inside their establishments. The problem, however, is the casino is usually on the hook for keeping the gamblers away.
Golden Eagle believes that their list that has over 100 names on it, has become unmanageable. The gamblers, however, believe that the casino once again wants their business, and that is why the list is being discontinued.
"Some of these gamblers on the Golden Eagle list were some of the biggest gamblers at the casino," said Analyst Brad Dawkins, "While the casino does not claim to want these gamblers back, the bettors themselves feel that getting rid of the list is an open invitation back to the facility."
Casinos across the US have come under fire recently for gamblers who were on their self-exclusion list but were still allowed in the casino. The casinos have responded by saying that the list is only an aid to the gambler, not a full-proof system of keeping the gamblers away.
